US Pole Dance Federation Championships 2010  


Friday, March 19th

Symphony Space Theatre, New York City.

The championship is divided in two categories: pro and amateur. The Pro- division is at 8:00PM, 

and the amateur division is held same day. Time TBA. Pro category accepts up to 12 competitors, 

and amateur category accepts up to 6 competitors. There will be up to $10,000 in cash prizes, 

plus a trip to Sydney to perform at Miss Pole Dance Australia for the winner.

Ticket sale starts Nov 26th (USPDF Members will have access to exclusive pre-sale and 

additional offers). This will be a week filled with Master workshops and instructor certification 

course.


Application deadline for pro and amateur: Tuesday, December 1st at 12:00PM (EST) Only USPDF members can apply



Competition Qualifications:

If you are a pole dancer interested in competing please read information below as it applies to all 

USPDF competitions unless stated otherwise.

  • Must be female citizen of the US, or a valid Green Card holder
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Fill out and submit a completed application
  • Specify in the application if you work the stationary pole or the spinning pole
  • Submit a 2-3 min unedited video of your pole dancing skills
  • Video submission are preferred to be submitted on DVD, YouTube, MySpace, or Facebook.
  • No video attachments in emails accepted
  • Video must be submitted by no later than deadline date in order to be approved by USPDF
  • Application fee TBA

Final Competitors- pro and amateurs:

- are required to choreograph a compulsory round and an optional round

- will receive a ‘Finalist Manual’ with details of how to prepare for competition 


Compulsory Round: 

60-90 sec choreographed routine where competitors will creatively include all of the following 

required elements (not necessary in written order) 


  • 20 sec of continuous floor work
  • 2 spins
  • 1 upright static pose
  • 1 inversion
  • 1 inner thigh hold
  • 1 split

Optional Round: 

3-5 minute choreographed routine with no required elements. 


Dress Code:

No nudity, no G-strings, not thongs, and no tassels. Intimate body parts have to be covered up. 

Violation of this requirement leads to immediate disqualification. 


Compulsory round

- min 5” heel, hot shorts and sports bra


Optional round

- barefoot or heels,

-costumes are acceptable,

-props need to be approved by USPDF.


Music:

No vulgar music, radio edits only


USPDF Judging regulations:

  • Transitions and technique
  • Execution of tricks
  • Originality of choreography
  • Flexibility and extensions
  • Sex appeal
  • Overtime/ under time
  • Overall performance

Competitors will be marked down if they don't follow the dress code, as well as if they go under/over time. 


Competitors will be disqualified for

    • Nudity or other dress code violation
    • Talking to the crowd or using vulgar language
    • Showing any misconduct that will or could damage the reputation of USPDF
    • USPDF also ask you not to bring back-up dancers, or any other person on stage with you as you perform your routines as such violation leads to disqualification.







Vertical Pole CHallenge

Vertical Pole Challenge is a sexy, fun, hip, and entertaining reality-themed show pitting the sexiest women, from the top locations, against one another for bragging rights, prizes, and the sexiest pole dancing skills on display to audiences nationwide. Amazing athletic skills from housewives to aerobics instructors, college students to attorneys, everyone wants to get on the pole and dance.

We will audition hundreds of contestants, and pick 15 of the most talented pole artists from each location. Once selected, each contestant will be issued two songs in advance, of which they must select one piece to choreograph for their performance. The 25 selected contestants will get a chance to showcase their skills and try to be selected as one of the 3 finalists. 

This challenge will be in front of hundreds of spectators watching and cheering on their favorite challenger. This will be the sexiest Reality Talent show to hit the air. There will be 3 judges including a Celebrity, A Pole Dance Exercise Class Room Instructor, and of course a judge from the Pole Dancing Industry.

The contestants will be judged on a 10 point scale for:

Strength
Flexibility
Horizontal Maneuvers
Vertical Maneuvers
Transitions
Sensuality
Foot Positioning
Appearance
Originality
Spins

Dress Code:

No nudity, no G-strings, no thongs, and no pasties or tassels. Intimate body parts have to be covered up. Violation of this requirement leads to immediate disqualification. Boots may be worn but will incur an automatic point deduction.

At the end of the season all of the contestants will live together in the Las Vegas for the weekend allowing the tension and competitive personalities to surface for all to see.  Each contestant knows that anyone of their competitors can take away the top $25,000 cash prize, and all of the notoriety that comes along with being the Vertical Pole Challenge winner.

The winner will have media exposure through magazine articles written about their success, commercial opportunities, and all of the perks that comes with being the Vertical Pole Challenge winner.

This show will have two separate challenges going on, novice for the students of the industry, and the professionals which will be the judges from both sides of the spectrum from each episode.

TERMS: Participant must be 21 years of age or older to audition and participate in competition for Vertical Pole Challenge. All participants auditioning for Vertical Pole Challenge should be non-professional dancers. Professional dancers may dance in the professional category for future episodes or in the professional category challenge.

Final participants in each episode of Vertical Pole Challenge will have the opportunity to win cash prizes of First Place - $2,500; Second Place - $1,500; and Third Place; $1,000. All three finalists will have the chance to advance to the final episode and win $25,000.llenge that will have men, women, young and old coming back to watch more and more.
